A New Building for Middle and High School Students

The new school will modernize learning for students with upgraded technology and furnishings.

New spaces will include classrooms, labs, a cafeteria, a small gymnasium and more parking spaces. The building will also have modern safety and security elements.

Preserved and Upgraded Extracurricular Spaces

The district will keep and refurbish McKinley Auditorium, the competition gymnasium and the natatorium. The planetarium will also be kept.

This is in response to feedback collected during the facility planning process. CHS staff members and community members voiced strong opinions about maintaining these spaces at the high school.

Expanded Opportunities for Community Partnerships

While parts of the existing CHS will be torn down, a portion will be renovated to serve new purposes such as housing the Coshocton Opportunity School and Coshocton Alternative School, establishing a job center equipped with a computer lab through Ohio Means Jobs, and enhancing the existing health clinic by Muskingum Valley Health Centers to incorporate mental health services.

This is a deal we can't pass up!

  2. The bond issue will cover the remaining $22.3 million. Approximately $7 million of the bond issue (15% of the cost) will be covered by commercial, industrial and public utility.
  3. Coshocton residents will cover the remaining $15.3 million of the bond issue (32% of the cost).
